GAF stands for Global Assessment of Functioning and is a numerical value arrived at by your mental health provider. GAF scores range from 0 to 100; the lower the score the more severe psychological pathology.
Many Law Judges will use GAF as a way to quantify the severity of a specific claimant’s mental illness.
